Badminton rules

1. Scoring: A badminton match is usually played to the best of three games, and each game is played to 21 points. A player or team must win by a margin of two points.

2. Serving: The serve must be underhand and made from below the waist. The server must stand within the service court and the shuttlecock must land within the opposite service court. If the server wins a point, they serve again from the alternate service court. If they lose the point, the serve goes to their opponent.

3. Rallying: After the serve, both players or teams can hit the shuttlecock back and forth over the net, and the shuttlecock can only be hit once before it must pass over the net. The shuttlecock can touch the net during a rally, but must still land in the opponent's court.

4. Faults: A fault is committed when a player touches the net with their racket or body, hits the shuttlecock out of bounds, fails to return the shuttlecock over the net, or makes a serve that lands out of bounds or is too high. A fault results in a point for the opponent.

5. Doubles: In doubles, both players on a team take turns serving and receiving, and the service court is determined by the side that wins the rally.

6. Change of ends: At the end of each game, players or teams switch sides of the court.

7. Let: A let is called if the shuttlecock hits the net during a serve and lands in the correct service court, or if a player is obstructed by their opponent's body or racket during a rally.

These are the basic rules of badminton, and there are more specific rules regarding scoring, serving, and faults depending on the level of play and the organization hosting the game.
